FIJIAN (VAKAVITI) SERVICE

Starts at 11:00 a.m.

“The best of all is God is with us.” - John Wesley

Life in the new land can be challenging. If we have God and each other, we can sail safely in the stormy sea of life.

Where & How It Started

The Fijian Language Ministry at First Church Santa Rosa started as a small prayer group in February 2004. From small beginnings then, we have grown in numbers and in faith. We are thankful to God and our family in Christ here in Montgomery Church for enabling us to be part of this church. As we journey together in this walk of faith may God enable us to become better Christians deep in faith and love and to embrace everyone with Open Hearts, Minds and Heart.

Worship Services

There are two weekly services every Sunday. An early morning service for early birds starts at 6.00 am in the Chapel and the main service in the Sanctuary at 11.00 am. Apart from the Special Sundays in the Christian Calendar we also observe Children’s, Youth, Mother’s, and Men’s Sundays. The members of these various groups lead the worship on their Sundays and at the end of the service the congregation share a meal as one big family. You’re welcome to join us on any of these Sundays.

Cell Groups
- Bible Study

The Ministry is divided into four cell groups: Zion, Gethsemane, Sinai and Galilee. They meet from 8.00pm – 9.00pm on Wednesday nights to share the Word of God and sing praises and pray. (This are nice and small family-oriented groups).

Fijian Choir

Music is an essential part of Fijian culture, life, and worship. Come and join our choir to proclaim God’s goodness and faithfulness and to reassure your commitment to God and our unity with one another.

Fijian Fellowship

We believe “Bula Vinaka” begins and ends with fellowship at the table. After Sunday service we share our food and our stories with one another. We are Fijians and Methodists! What do we end up when we combine those two? Lots of eating!

Becoming A Member

Whether you have recently moved to the Santa Rosa area or established yourself in the United States so long ago, we welcome you with open hearts and open hands. You are precious in God’s eyes and we hope to walk alongside you in your faith journey.

“God does nothing except in response to believing prayer.”

— John Wesley
