Present:  Bill Dornbush, Jennifer Dornbush, Lindsey Kerr, Diane Jackson, Andrea Davis, Carmen Rapp

Opening Devotion: Bill read James  2:14-17 from The Message. 

 

Correspondence:  Thank you letters were received from FISH for donations of $107 and $65 and from the General Board of Global Ministries for the $2,525 offering for Paul Jeffery.

 

Minutes:  The minutes were approved as written. 

 

CURRENT BUSINESS:

Fair Trade Products – Bill 

Due to some problems with check processing, Bill asked that whenever you include a check in the deposit envelope, you also include a Small Deposit Slip completed for the total deposit.  There are slips in the red folder in the Fair Trade Box and also in the church office.

Homeless Ministries Taskforce Update- Bill

For now, the Taskforce is not continuing to pursue the homeless encampment at Stony Point. The Safe Parking program has lost its funding.  The next Taskforce meeting is June 28.

 

VIM Trip – Diane

The Sonoma Chanson concert brought in $902 to benefit VIM.  Their first 3-1/2 day trip was successful with three groups working at different projects.  Diane Jackson reported on Brian Gebhart who was injured at the end of the trip.  He is slowly healing. The trip in September has 26 people signed up and the October trip, almost 30 people.

 

Community Garden – Jennifer

At the June 3rd workshop, ten Master Gardeners were present and fifteen people came to learn about planting beds for summer, transitioning from spring to summer garden and hand watering.  All beds have been rented.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

There was no New Business.

 

Bill and Jennifer will not be able to attend the Church Council meeting on July 8.  Diane and Lindsey will represent Outreach and Service.

 

Bulletin Board:

July – Back-to-School Supplies collection for The Living Room backpacks – Andrea

Diane will write an article for the Roseleaf.

August – Native American Ministries – Andrea

September – Peace with Justice Special Offering – Diane

Roseleaf article – Carmen

 

Jennifer closed the meeting by reading Leviticus 19:33,34.  She then read offering hospitality for strangers in our midst. 

 

The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 29 at 4:00 p.m., in the Carriage House.  No meeting in July. 

The meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
