Dear friends in my supporting churches:
I just returned from two weeks in Southern Sudan, and you can find some entries on my blog that describe a bit what I was doing there in these critically important weeks leading up to January's referendum on independence. The most recent blog entry reflects on this in light of the beginning of Advent.
You can find my blog at www.kairosphotos.com/blog
If you haven't already done so, you could place a link to it on your congregation's website. If you're conversant with social media, feel free to tweet it or mention it on Facebook.
In the next couple of weeks I've got a series of articles to write about what's going on there, but today I'm taking my laptop (and my wife) and escaping to southeast Asia for two weeks of vacation. All those miles are good for something! I'll spend the mornings writing, and in the afternoons Lyda and I will take classes in Thai and Laotian cooking. Shortly after I get back, I'll head to Haiti to prepare stories to mark the first anniversary of the earthquake.
Thanks, as always, for your encouragement and support. As we again wait together for God to come in the birth of Jesus, may you be richly blessed by the mission of your congregation.
