Life Together: Visible Community

The physical presence of other Christians is a source of incomparable joy and strength

Monday: Paul receives a good report from Timothy about the Thessalonian Christians.  He longs to see them face to face.

Read 1 Thessalonians 3:6-10

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. Do you ever take for granted the gift that other Christians are to your faith and life?  How can you recognize and affirm this gift?

2. What do you gain by being a part of a visible community of faith?  What does the community gain from you?

Pray for those who are not able to share in the joy of visible community at this time (e.g. the imprisoned, sick, scattered lonely etc.)

Tuesday:  You are part of a royal priesthood, which means that you are sent (scattered) into the world to bless, intercede and act on its behalf.  Since you are part of a scattered people, the times of visible gathering with other Christians (i.e. with other priests) is a source of great encouragement.
