Resurrection faith weaves together life and death

Monday: Peter demonstrates resurrection faith by bringing to life the disciple Tabitha.  Death will not have the final say.


Read Acts 9:36-43

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. What personal or social situations get you the most discouraged?  In other words, you feel like you’ve hit a dead end?

2. How this story and embracing a resurrection faith change your perspective?

Prayer Focus

Pray for a new perspective on a problem that discourages you.


Tuesday:  Peter demonstrates resurrection faith by healing a man bed ridden for eight years.


Read Acts 9:32-35

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. In terms of social justice, where to you feel most paralyzed to act?

2. What would it look like to “get up” and be healed of your paralysis to act?

Prayer Focus

Pray for the touch of Christ to heal you of any complacency that is paralyzing you from acting for social change.


Wednesday: Resurrection faith follows the voice of the Shepherd and is assured of eternal life.


Read John 10:22-30

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. What is Christ saying to you today?

2. What bold act might you attempt today if you knew Christ was guiding you and you were assured of eternal life?

Prayer Focus

Pray to discern Christ’s living word for you today.


Thursday:   Resurrection faith is guided by a vision of life overcoming death.


Read Revelation 7:9-17

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. How might this vision affect the way you go about your business today?

2. Visualize new life coming to a situation that is desperate.

Prayer Focus

Pray for clarity about this vision of life overcoming death.  Pray for the situations in the world in which this vision is needed.


Friday:  Resurrection faith knows that the Lord is with us as a Shepherd who cares for the sheep.
