Wednesday week two!!

Last night Gary Bunas allowed us the opportunity to celebrate with him his seventh anniversary of being cancer free. He reflects on his life on this day each year and writes his surgeons a card letting them know that thanks to them he is still around to enjoy his family and life.

Nancy had found a dvd filmed by a local of the 90 freeway the day before, during and 5 days after the storm. It was eerie to see what was here prior to the storm and our arrival. It was amazingly clean on the coast as the wave swept most of the debris to the back bay.

This morning I had invited several families to join us for breakfast and the Fosters form this year and Patricia, her daughter, and her grand baby twin boys came for breakfast and sharing. We all enjoyed hearing some insight to how we helped them to better their lives. In Patricia’s instance she went back to work, while her daughter is back at school and the babies are in daycare during the day leading to better lives. It was great seeing everyone for all of us.

The Fosters were completed today and so Colleen will have no one to cook for. So tonight when I checked on her she offered to cook one last lunch Friday for any who are interested. I for one will be in line for that meal. The house looks great with all new everything and strong vibrant colors every where.

Paul and crew are one day away from being completed with Robbie’s house. They are being fed a great lunch tomorrow for all of their hard work the past two weeks. The house looks great and they are finally seeing the end is in sight. They have a two year old who will finally be home for the first time in his life.

Bill C and company finished framing there project. They have an inspection tomorrow and then will plywood the walls and roof and install windows.

Gary and his new crew found out that their project has the most incredible view of the back bay. They are across the street with an unobstructed view. The homeowner had fallen and gotten hurt going down her concrete block and board temporary stairs and asked for our help. They have the forms up for the pour tomorrow. They are also doing some final projects around the house for her. Her trailer is to be removed tomorrow and she will be home for the weekend. She had remained for the storm and ended up on her roof from 9:30 pm until 2 pm the next day. The events that day have changed her and affected her deeply. She is an older frail woman whose mind has made her body sick. I hope that by bringing this comfort to her she can finally heal and continue on.

Bill W and Brian Gephardt both had crews at Sam Crafts today. I am hoping they will be done with sheet rocking tomorrow. The goal for me is to have the house sheet rocked and taped so another team can finish up next week.
