Our VIM teams will again be going to Middletown, CA to help rebuild homes that were destroyed by the Valley Fire in 2015 and The Clayton Fire in 2016. We are partnering with Hope City who is the official builder for the rebuild effort. People in Middletown are our neighbors and it is great to be able to work so close to home. We have had volunteers from up to 9 different churches and groups join us on our work teams so it is really a community effort. We have a lot of fun working and sharing together.
Dates chosen are:
We chose the June week in the hope that some families might be able to join us. Children 12 and older are invited if accompanied by a parent or surrogate parent. Scholarship help is available.
We will be staying and eating in the new team building that is being constructed. This will be dorm type housing for $100/person/week. 8 RV spaces with hook-ups will be available, costing $100/space/week. Private room housing is available nearby at Twin Pines Casino/Hotel for $100/night. Food will be $50/person/week. An additional one time per year $50 team fee is charged to take care of t-shirts and misc. expenses. A one week trip would cost $200. 2nd & 3rd weeks or staying in an RV would be cheaper.
