Did you know that FUMC is a Covenant Partner for a Habitat for Humanity home recently built in Cotati? This “Faith Build” home project was sponsored by church “Covenant Partners.” Each church congregation Covenant Partner pledged to provide financial support, volunteer effort, and prayers to the project. The family for whom this home was built consists of a single mother and her two daughters. As part of the selection process, each family is carefully screened for qualification by Habitat for Humanity. The family must be within 50-60% of the median household income in Sonoma County and meet other requirements to qualify to purchase a Habitat home, and must take on mortgage payments to complete their purchase. They must also contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” as a down payment. FUMC joined the Covenant Partnership to build this home and pledged to contribute $5,000 to the project. Help us continue this valuable work by donating to the special offering for Habitat for Humanity on Sunday, February 26. Every donation to Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County helps to build homes – and hope – for hard-working local families right here in our county.
