ALL-Adult Nicaragua Mission Trip POSTPONED

This trip has been postponed. New dates TBD.

Update on Nicaragua Mission Trip: Now ALL interested adults are invited, Registration deadline Feb 29

After having this trip open to young adults, we have decided to open the trip to other adults, so we have a full team. Any adult from 19 years old and up, are invited to come on this adventure. If you’re interested in traveling to Nicaragua to work on access to clean water for rural people, then this may be the trip for you!

Cassandra Lawrence is leading a group of adults from all over the western United States.  We’re going through Volunteers in Mission and El Porvenir.  El Porvenir means “the future,” and the organization, in partnership with the people of Nicaragua, helps provide clean drinking water, sanitation, sustainable water, and reforestation projects, along with health and hygiene education.  Globally, 1.5 million children die every year from polluted water, and 2.5 billion people worldwide lack access to basic sanitation. With help from groups like ours, El Porvenir has completed over 700 projects in the last 20 years, which have helped over 100,000 people gain access to clean water.

Trip dates are June 30-July 9, 2012, and the price will be $1,750 (this includes travel costs). Applications and a $250 deposit are due February 29, 2012, with full payment due May 1, 2012.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, or someone you know would be interested in doing, contact Cassandra Lawrence.
