SCUMY walks in the 2013 Human Race!

And we need your help! Donate now to support SCUMY & The Children's Village!

On Saturday, May 11, 2013, we will participate in the Sonoma County Human Race. We have decided to participate in the race and raise money, not for ourselves, but for the Children's Village. The Children's Village of Sonoma County is a unique, successful non-profit organization providing nurturing, family-style homes for children and siblings in foster care. $1,000 will support one foster kid for one year. It buys clothes, school supplies, and other things them need. Our goal is to support 2 foster kids with $2000.

We are asking our friends, family, and church to sponsor us in this effort by giving $10, $20, $50 or whatever you can to help. Many organizations are struggling to provide services to our neighbors in need so it’s more important than ever to do what we can to keep these critical services available.

The Human Race is a nationwide community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations and is the largest collaborative fundraising event in Sonoma County! It has been one of the most successful fundraisers for local nonprofits for over 30 years and raised nearly $1 million for local charities in 2011. We are excited to participate in the race this spring and raise funds for local charities that support our community.

All donations are tax deductible. Help make a difference in the community by donating $5 to $50 (or whatever you can). Please feel free to send a link to our page if you know anyone who would be interested in making a donation.
