A native of Santa Rosa, Elizabeth lives with her husband Don “ Tree ” and their two sons, Jacob and Jordan. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Chapman University and completed her Elementary Teaching Credential from Sierra Nevada College. She returned to her hometown in 1999.
Elizabeth loves working with young children. Straight out of college she used her training working for a Head Start program, and later spent several years teaching at a childcare program in Petaluma. Taking a few years off to be a stay-at-home-mom to first born son Jacob, Elizabeth was pleased to find a home at the FUMC Preschool Center in 2007, where she continues to be on staff. Elizabeth expanded her employment with the church in 2010 when she became the Coordinator of Children’s Creative Arts. That role further developed into the position of Children’s Ministry Coordinator in August of 2012.
In her present position Elizabeth manages the weekly Sunday School program and curriculum, provides support to volunteer teachers, plans and organizes the seasonal big events (including the summertime Vacation Bible School) and coordinates family events as outreach to the community. Elizabeth feels blessed that the First United Methodist Church believes that children are a vital part of their congregation, and she welcomes the chance to support Children’s Ministry at every opportunity.
In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys bike rides with her family, tent camping, crafting and cooking.
