Tuesday: Bear with one another in love

Read Ephesians 4: 1-3

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. What does it mean to “bear with one another in love”?

2. Has there ever been a time that you have chosen unity over division? What did that feel like?

Holy Spirit, fill us with a desire for unity in our lives.


Wednesday: One Spirit

Read Ephesians 4: 4-6

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. Does the church world-wide act as though it were one body?

2. What causes divisions among us?

3. How might God be calling you to speak to the unity of the Spirit and the church?

Prayer focus

Holy Spirit, come and reconcile our church around the world to itself and to God.


Thursday: Gifts to serve

Read Ephesians 4: 11-12

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. How do we understand “gifts” in our culture? Once something is given to you, does it belong to you?

2. What is different about our cultural understanding of gifts, and the gifts of the Spirit?

Prayer focus

Holy Spirit, open our hearts to how you would have us use our gifts to serve others.


Friday: Growing in love

Read Ephesians 4: 11-16

Questions for Reflection and Application

1. What is the work that Christ is calling us to in this passage?

2. How do we work for unity?

3. How does “speaking truth in love” differ from simply “speaking truth”? What does that have to do with unity?

Holy Spirit, fill us with your truth – which is love.
