Coffee and Tea and Justice
You may have seen the coffee, tea, cocoa, and chocolate for sale during the Sunday coffee hour at Montgomery, and served at the Fellowship Hour. But did you know that all of these products are FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED, that the Equal Exchange company is certified to provide a living wage to the farmers for their work?
Members of the Outreach & Service Commission provide these goods as a matter of justice for the farmers. We make no profit from the sales, but provide them to you at wholesale prices. We encourage you to continue purchasing these goods so we can continue to make a difference for the farmers.
WE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE 100-TON CHALLENGE
FUMC was the largest church purchaser in the USA, buying more than $8,000 worth of fairly traded goods during the UMCOR 100-Ton Challenge, from May 10, 2008, thorugh May 9, 2009.
