Budget Discussion:
ØBill to propose to trustees approval of a secured Bank CD of $10,000.00 from the Tour Fund.
o The CD would represent safeguarding of the Tour Fund monies for a future date.
o Board approved moving $259.15 from the Choir’s General Fund to the Choir’s Tour Fund in order to start the CD at an even $10,000, if board’s proposal approved by the Trustees.

OLD BUSINESS
Choir Retreat Wrap Up:
ØSuggest participants allow extra morning-time for Security, refreshments, and settling-in
o There was probably twice as much breakfast food as was needed.
§It was suggested that snack food be cut back by half next year.
ØLunch menu, etc discussed with varying viewpoints
ØSecurity procedures, etc also discussed, as was last minute registration add-ons/ drop-offs
ØCurrent format, with the clinician in the am and fall choir music in the pm, was good.
Fundraising 2012-2013:
· It was reiterated that 2012-13 fundraising monies would go to the Choir Tour Fund.
o Magic Show date of May 5th was decided on.
o Christmas Concert offering money would go to the Choir’s General Fundto assure
that it would begin with $1,500.00 or more in July 2012.
NEW BUSINESS
Christmas Season
· Nativity Live! – We’ll talk with enthusiasm to have choir members, and others who sing,
join us in this fun event, which will be held on the 2nd Saturday of December.
· Christmas Singers invited to Rehearsals, which start Oct. 20th.
· There will be a Saturday dress rehearsal on Dec. 17th, from 9:00 to 12:00.
· RL Stevens Christmas Caroling (date TBD, but likely 2/16) is another great event we do.
Comin’ Home Festival
· Choir will not participate on Friday, Oct. 7th.
· Choir will sing at the All Church Service at Stony Point on the 9th, warming up at 9:30.
§The Choir will not be robed and will sit with families/friends during worship.
§Comfortable shoes are suggested.
Doug’s Corner
· Processional on Sunday discussed with some positive and some negative feedback.
o Other options were discussed, and it was agreed the new worship format would take some experimentation.
o It was decided that for the 10/2 service, the choir would be seated in Loft before the announcements start.
o For the 2 services on 10/16, the Choir will come in early for the 9:30 service, and process on the opening hymn for the 11:00 service.
o Doug will discuss the processional plan(s) with the Choir.
· Stewardship Season begins 10/30. Very important in order to maintain current jobs and programs. With these difficult economic times, the Church’s finances are being impacted.
· Membership Concerns RE: coming-up with ideas for bringing new people into the choir.
§ There is always a need for more men, and tenor voices…
§ Doug will be contacting Christmas singer prospects
The next Board Meeting is on October 18th, with Bill bringing Dessert.
