Budget Discussion:
Bill reported on the transfer of $10,000 from the Choir Tour Fund #03-3322 to the Money Market Account at Luther Burbank Savings and Loan.
• Below is a portion of the letter sent by Board President Sandy Prosapio to Church Trustees Larry Schmidt, Mary Brunet and Larry Thompson.
- “The Chancel Choir Board of the First United Methodist Church of Santa Rosa hereby authorizes the First UMC Finance Committee to invest $10,000 in a Money Market Account (“MMA”) at Luther Burbank Savings & Loan, using the money currently in the Chancel Choir Tour Fund (#03-3322), with the understanding that we may also continue to invest proceeds from future fundraisers in said MMA, and redeem all or part of the total in the account at the request of the singers who may need partial support in order to participate in future choir tours.”
• Bill will track and record the MMA and Tour Fund (#03-3322) accounts separately for the Treasurer’s Report.
• Receipts from the Snowflake Bazaar came to $1,083.80, a huge success this year. Thanks to the “choir team” for providing: a varied selection of saleable items, lending many voices to caroling and all other general assistance.
• Bill proposed, Sandy seconded and the board unanimously approved that $1,000.00 of the Bazaar proceeds be added to the MMA Scholarship Acct. with the balance of $83.80 to remain in the Tour Fund (#03-3322).
• Doug proposed that future fundraisers be used to resupply the Tour Fund (#03-3322) until it reaches $1500.00, a suggested amount for miscellaneous local expenses RE future tour needs. It was further agreed, once the Tour Fund has been replenished in the amount of $1500.00, that monies from future events will be deposited in our
MMA on an ‘event by event’ basis.

Membership Concerns: A decision was made to recognize Elinor Semple’s years of service to the Chancel Choir. Details for the implementation of a Chancel Choir recognition program were tabled until the January 2012 board meeting.
Michelle proposed the board consider an “out of the loft” ministry with the Chancel Choir singing in neighboring churches occasionally. She will do some advance work to determine if and where this interest might exist.
