Choir Board “Special” Meeting

Monday, 12/20/10, 5pm

ATTENDING: Doug Albertson, Bill O’Rear, Dick Reichert, Elizabeth Walton, Diane Wikse (ABSENT: Michelle Higgs, Sandy Prosapio)

CANTATA NEWS – Discussed & reviewed weekend shows, etc.  Many positive comments and opportunities for the future were brought up.  Bill noted our donations of approx $1300!  We will share proceeds with SPt Band, and suggest $250-300 would be possible.  Final expenses against Chancel Fund still TBD.  We’re requesting a full accounting by the next board mtg.

TOUR UPDATE: This was the main purpose of the board’s “special” mtg.  Our Tour Expert/Manager Dick Reichert, after much consideration and research, advised us against including Turkey as a destination in 2012.  Instead, he proposed melding Southern Greece with Northern Italy (and dropping Croatia leg).  The Board enthusiastically endorsed this new itinerary option.  With “Benelux” as another option, we’re nearly ready to present our ideas at the upcoming TOUR INFORMATION MEETING, Sunday, January 9, noon, Chapel.  All interested singers invited.

CHURCH CHOIR FESTIVAL: With the terrible news of Ron Hawks’ passing, there’s reasonable concern about whether another choir & director will be interested in helping lead & coordinate this event.  Doug will contact other churches in the community to solicit their support, although previously no other group has been either as involved as 1st Congo or as interested as Ron was.
