Art Gallery

You can’t help notice it as you walk down the hallway from the church office toward Fellowship Hall. First you’ll see the lighted wall plaques. Then, as you turn left at the corner by the stairs, you’ll finally take it all in: Blocks of Love, expressions of personal sentiment created and displayed on 250+ wood tiles. As you stand back and glance down the entire display, the images blend into outbursts of artistic color, family homage, God-scapes, and personal tributes.
Our church’s CAMAB (Creative Arts Ministry Advisory Board) plans for the exhibit to remain at Montgomery until mid-summer, when it will be transported for display at Stony Point. A new exhibit will then begin at Montgomery. CAMAB’s goal is to feature various types of art shows over the year, and keep them in place for about two months. Only the special church-wide art projects, like Blocks of Love, will be shared at both campuses. Otherwise, and in most cases, art shows will be available for public viewing solely at the Montgomery Gallery. If you have ideas about what (or who!) to feature at future art gallery shows, please give your suggestions to any CAMAB representative:
Doug Albertson, Staff Liason; Miale Bridgwater; Bob Cheal; Shirley Cheal; Melinda Harris; Michelle Higgs, chair; Dennis Higgs; Carol Killion; Johanna McKenna; Paula Peterson
