Kris Marshall

The Rev. Kristen Marshall is the Associate Pastor for the First United Methodist Church beginning July 1, 2010. Pastor Kris is coming to us from her position as the Associate Pastor of the United Japanese Christian Church (UMC) in Clovis, California.

Pastor Kris grew up in the Central Valley (Ceres and Merced) as a life-long United Methodist. She attended college at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, receiving a double major in International Relations, and Hispanic Language and Literature.  Her seminary education was at the Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, with a concentration in Biblical Studies, Theology, and Preaching. In addition to her recent ministry in Clovis, Pastor Kris also served as a pastoral intern at Burlingame UMC while in seminary.

Pastor Kris has also been active in ministry throughout the Conference, including camping and retreat ministries (e.g., Bishop’s Confirmation Retreat and the Senior High Leadership Camp), spiritual life ministries (e.g., Chrysalis and Walk to Emmaus), and United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (e.g., a college work team experience to Africa University in Zimbabwe). In her spare time, she likes to play volleyball and softball, and enjoys strumming her guitar.
